The distant future... A devastating space war is taking place between mankind and a lizard race known as the Gi'Kan. A ring of planetary systems collectively called the Defense Races prevents the enemy from entering the heart of the Confederation, where human colonies are located. The production of ships that can fend off the Gi'Kan takes place on these systems, as the main task of the Defense Races is to intercept and eliminate the Gi'Kan. To this end, the Defense Races have placed battle turrets around each system where battleships are made. These turrets, called Defenders, are the sole hope of humanity.
